I found the shoes at a second hand store for about two bucks. I've had the socks for years but never wore them until I had the costume. |
|
The shorts I bought on sale at Star Styled for $11. I didn't want to ruin the Marine dress coat (Sportsmansguide.com, $20) because I respect the uniform too much to cut it, so I used a bunch of lace my grandma got me. |
|
|
I traced the pockets of the coat so I could cut the right shape for the white parts and used red ribbon for for the trim. I lightly stitched it in, in case I ever need to remove it. |

I bought the cuffs at Peacock's Marching World for $6. I trimmed the size down and used "Christmas Red" paint I bought from Ames. The "button" is a wooden disk painted in the same red. |

In version 2, the green disk is a reflector mirror glazed with a special paint for glass and the triangle is made from brass*. Version 1 (which is below) is made from Model Magic and is spray painted gold. The green paint is "Christmas Green" from Ames.

I bought the citation cord at Peacock's Marching World for $12 (I think). Its gold with a brass tip and in order for it to hold up like it is in the show, I pasted a pin backing to it. I have quite a bit of the gold cord left (minus any brass tips), if anyone would like a length, e-mail me. |

After an endless search for a fake rose that didn't look frayed, I finally found one at an Odd n Ends for a dollar. It was light yellow and made out of foam, but I painted it white. There is not a pocket exactly like in the showjust the ribbon on top of a flap. The rose is in the button hole. |

Version 2 (top) of the Epaulets are reflector mirrors I found at a flea market at about $3 each and coloured by glass paint. The white braids are embroidery floss. Im still not happy with them and I plan to redo it some. Version 1 (bottom) was made out of model magic painted with the gold spray and the Christmas Red. The white strings were embroidery floss. With both versions, the right side never wanted to stay attatched. I've used packing tape, double-sided tape, foam tape, velcronothing wants to stay there! |

The triangles are made from brass with a single clutch-back pin holding them in place.* |

This picture is quite blurred, but this ring is sterling silver with pink enamel and is QUITE gorgeous. A friend from the internet had them made by a jeweler and the rose is PERFECT. Mike has a better picture on his page. |

Over $60 is spent each time I dye my hair this colour. That includes bleach and the colouring...there's something about this pink that it won't spread right...I used a darker pink in April and I was able to use one bottle of the Special Effects brand, but this colour required 2 bottles of the Special Effects and the time before that I used 3 jars of Manic Panic (As seen here), but they still didn't cover it all :( |

I bought the sword at Peacock's Marching World for $32. I used Model magic to shape the hilt (this is version 2 of the top of it), and sprayed on the gold and silver. I used the Green and red paints already mentioned plus a brown to finish colouring it. The ineptitude of United and America West Airlines broke the model-work both to and from California. Because it IS signed by Chiho Saito-sama, I left it with my mom in Texas when I made an emergency stop. |
Result:

My hair was wet when I took this photo, so it doesn't "poof"
like I want it to :(
*=My boyfriend made them for me. If you'd like a set e-mail him about it.
