-Tips and Resources-
First of all, I am not ashamed to say Im a budget cosplayer. You would be surprised how much I find at second hand stores! Best for footwear, esp if youre only going to wear them for the costume
Second, check flea markets!
Third, don't be afraid to ask other cosplayers what they used and/or where they got it
Fourth, check dance supply shoppes to see if what you need is already made
Wal-Mart - Wal-Mart can be your best friend. I got my Leather Puncher and my grommet maker way cheaper than at Jo-Ann's. I also got leather "string" there that Jo-Ann's didn't even have!
Ames - I found a couple of paints there that I didn't see elsewhere
Sportsmans Guide - Where I got my Utena coat (Marine Jacket)
Jo-Ann's - Get yer fabric here, but I recommend looking to places like Wal-Mart for other doo-dads before buying them here
Peacock's Marching World - If you're doing uniforms and need accessories, this is the place to go
